This one-week workshop will gather mathematicians, theoretical biologists, and biophysicists around the theme of mathematical modelling in ecology and evolution.
The workshop will be organized on a hybrid mode, with room sessions in the morning (broadcasted via Zoom for the online participants) followed byZoom sessions in the afternoon.
Registered participants will receive the Zoom connection link by email ahead of the sessions.
Topics
Mathematical biology is a very vast field, of which many paramount mathematical models came out : among the most classical ones, the Lotka-Volterra predator-prey system, the Wright-Fisher population genetics model, and the Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov reaction-diffusion equation. During the workshop, we will focus on emerging topics and on the innovative mathematical methods that are currently being developped to handle them.
In particular, we aim to address the following topics: asymptotic analysis of multi-scale problems (semi-classical analysis of quantitative genetics models in the limit of small variance, connection with Hamilton-Jacobi equation); derivation of macroscopic models from individual-based stochastic models); evolution of species range (adaptation to an environmental change, segregation of interacting species, dynamics of multi-species or complex invasions); evolutionary rescue; diversity of immune repertoires; evolutionary epidemiology; methods in statistical physics...
